Post by: Todd on February 12, 2009, 04:48:11 am
Blubrry Community Update

This update is critically important for those of you using the Blubrry Stats service. There is information at the bottom of this notice that you should read.  Now for the regular announcements!

Sometime later today we are going to update the RawVoice Stats service, and when we do so we are removing a requirement for free access to the stats. Up until now you have been required to update your advertising survey every 90 days to get free podcast stats access. Effective today you will no longer need to fill out the advertising survey to get free access. Every Blubrry community member will have unlimited access to the free stats. Additionally we are also adding more features to the premium offering which we will announce when the service is updated later today on the Blubrry Blog.

Important: For those of you that still want to have ad deals. You need to update your ad survey every 90 days; this will guarantee that you are kept in the running for any ad buys we have in the planning stage. Failure to keep the survey updated will exclude you from ad buy offers.

From April 1st to June 31st we are expanding both the GotoMeeting and GotoMyPC advertising campaign by 50% this is a huge increase, and we are already planning which shows will get invited to the campaign update those ad surveys now. Watch the blog for details on the campaigns!

That’s all I have for this update. But if you are a Stats user please read the implementation instructions in the stats service carefully as some of you are using are formatting your URL’s incorrectly. The synopsis of the issue is below. Most of you are implementing correctly but a handful continue to improperly format the url. See Below

First and foremost if you are using Nested http:// in your redirect we encourage you to stop doing so immediately. The correct way to format the redirect is the first example. This is the redirect from my latest show.

http://media.blubrry.com/geeknewscentral/rvgarchive.com/geeknews/GNC-2009-02-10.mp3

Some of you are formatting your redirect incorrectly like this

http://media.blubrry.com/geeknewscentral/http://rvgarchive.com/geeknews/GNC-2009-02-10.mp3

Notice the extra http:// in the middle of the url.. You should remove that nested http://
