Statistics Vs. ITunes Charts
« on: February 17, 2017, 07:27:53 am »
Hi there. I'm still relatively new to podcasting and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong with how my podcast is set up. Currently my show "The Conspirators" is at #78 in the ITunes Society and Culture chart, but according to Blubrry stats I'm still averaging about 1,000 downloads per episode. I know a couple fellow podcasters whose shows average at least 10,000 downloads per episode who are a lot lower in the charts than I am. I know it's a little open ended, but could I have something set up wrong where I wouldn't be seeing accurate numbers? Thanks!

A podcast's ranking in the iTunes Store is based on nothing more than the number of people who've clicked the subscribe button in either the iTunes desktop application or the iOS Podcasts app. Total number of downloads is irrelevant. If you want to rank higher in the charts, you've got to get more people clicking subscribe within those applications.
