After hacking and fix - there is a complete disconnect
« on: October 07, 2015, 10:49:40 am »
All the mp3's are at the host - the links still show in the pages

but they show the time as NaNaNa and don't play - also new audio files won't load, as they had been designed to automatically load, to the host.

How do I reconnect PowerPress without having to edit any databases?

Did you recently move your WordPress installation? I don't really understand your question.

If that's the case, you may want to delete your current PowerPress installation and reinstall the plugin. It's possible that some files didn't copy over during the migration.

A well established website for a non-profit radio station was hacked.

The company who hosted it, cleaned out the hackers add-ins and it runs fine now - except that the pages that link to the audios - now do not work - click and nothing.

The audios are there on the host, the pages show a link - but no connect...

Would it be a simple as deleting the power press plugin and re-installing it? Would the plugin recognize all the old mp3 files?

It's hard to say, depending on what was removed after the hack. If PowerPress is currently installed and active, deactivate it and delete it from the WordPress installation. Then, reinstall it and see what happens. It'd be the first thing to try after something like this.

There are hundreds of files, and tens of radio shows that have connections. If I delete the entire plugin - won't all that be lost?

PowerPress settings are stored in the WordPress database, not the PowerPress settings. So, deleting the existing PowerPress installation and reinstalling won't have an affect on any existing settings.

Can you reply with a link to one of the pages where the media does not work so we can take a look?

The direct download link for the media file on that page is: http://www.nhnewsviewsblues.org/ArnieArnesen/AAA_150911.mp3  But the link comes up with a 404 message, which means the media file isn't at that location. Did you remove the media or change its location? If not, you may want to check with your web hosting provider and see if they moved it or took it down.
