Double title in itunes
« on: March 11, 2015, 05:27:43 am »
Hi

I don't know whether this is a problem with plugin or with itunes, but I would appreciate any help in troubleshooting what it is.

The issue is that itunes shows the podcast title using the title twice, as in Podcast TitlePodcast Title. I have checked the podcast feed on the site, and the title shows there as <title>Podcast Title</title>, ie singular instead of double. I have no idea what is going on, any hints?

Can you post the link to your iTunes listing?

Is there a reason you are using category podcasting?

iTunes is pulling this feed: http://mortenhake.com/category/new-paradigme-podcast/feed/

If you only have 1 podcast on your site, you should be using http://mortenhake.com/feed/podcast/.

You can try fixing it in category podcasting settings.  Under powerpress in the sidebar, there is category podcasting.  Click on that and edit your category podcast in the feed tab, edit the title there.  Also, make sure your iTunes subtitle is blank in the iTunes tab.

I did not set it up originally, I took over as webmaster from someone else.
And there are actually two podcasts on the site, the one I referred to and this one:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/morten-hakeslepp/id440387302
The other podcast also has the double title issue, and uses some of the same info as the new one but that hasn't been a priority to fix.
Basically, there is one old podcast that we don't publish to anymore but want to keep around for historical purposes and the newer one which is the one we will be concentrating on going forward.
Also the itunes subtitle is currently blank. (I've been wondering about that one as well, doesn't seem like itunes is using subtitles in any case?)
