Migration and Feed Change

I'm migrating a show from it's own site into a podcast network site.

The old show is using PodPress. The network site was upgraded to PowerPress and all other shows converted.

I've created a category on the old show site so I should be able to export and import as a category to the new site, then add that category as a show feed.

Two major questions:

1) Should I upgrade to PowerPress on the old site first, then export and import?
2) The old feed is a simple RSS feed from the old URL - I'll need to migrate it in iTunes - what's the best way to do this?
