downlads vs. referrers

I'm a little confused: we recently posted a podcast that had 48 unique downloads. But the listed number of referrers was 9,6,and 4. I realized that the paid statistic version will provide more detail - and we just signed up for the paid version - but will this fully account for the missing 29 referrers?

Referrers will never equal downloads. Referrers only occur in web browsers, read more about referrers on Wikipedia.org. You will never see referrer values from non-browser client applications like iTunes.
