Title: See Hear Podcast episode 51 - The Devil And Daniel Johnston
Post by: Maurice Bursztynski on May 02, 2018, 01:09:14 am
Hey folks,

I'm a co host of a monthly film podcast called See Hear. The angle we have is to discuss films that have music or musicians as part of the storyline (either narrative or documentary). This is not to be confused with soundtrack discussion (although that's not excluded). Over the nearly four and a half years we've been running, we've featured in depth discussions about films like Hated: GG Allin and The Murder Junkies to The 5000 Fingers of Dr T to All You Need Is Cash. We have had a couple of musicals that were not ABOUT music, but these were exceptions.

Occasionally, we've had directors join us to discuss their work and we often bring in fellow film podcasters and writers to get their perspective. Please consider checking us out.

The latest episode focuses on the 2006 documentary by Jeff Feurzeig called The Devil And Daniel Johnston. Daniel is an artist and songwriter diagnosed with depression who has been hugely prolific. In the eighties he put out cassettes recorded very lo-fi and with questionable musical chops. His is a fascinating story, and we give you our perspective on the film, his music, and issues with mental health.

You can get the episode by subscribing to See Hear Podcast in iTunes or downloading directly from http://seehear.podbean.com/e/see-hear-podcast-episode-51-the-devil-and-daniel-johnston/

Thanks for your consideration.

Cheers,
Maurice.
