Title: Plugin not auto-detecting file size etc. on m4a
Post by: Stephen Ashley on September 04, 2015, 02:47:26 pm
The latest version of the BluBrry plugin doesn't auto collect file size or duration on m4a files - it did before - and this is creating playback problems on streaming. These must now be entered manually, which is obviously less desirable!

Also MediaElement.js is no longer counting down on play time in the RH counter.

Anybody else reported these issues and/or is there a fix in progress, please?

Thanks.

Can you post a link to the website where you're having issues with the player?

Sorry for delay in response - have been expecting an email from the forum server, but that (obviously!) isn't sent on replies :-(

You'll need a login to test as all the podcasts are subscriber-only: www.hotpipes.eu/podcast/wp-login.php
User: stevetest
Pass: Granada-2468

The player situation is much worse than originally reported. It refuses to play/download at all on iOS 8.4.1 and in general with desktop browsers it's taking much longer to start streaming. The mp3/m4a files are hosted on OpenDrive, but I've tested Dropbox and OneDrive with exactly the same results.

I sure hope that you can find a solution - this will loose me subscribers.

Thanks!

It looks like you're gonna need some one-on-one help to get this resolved. Blubrry doesn't provide that kind of support thru this forum. You'll need to order an hour of podcast consulting here to get that done:

wow... that's so sad... so, if I have some problems with the functionality of the plugin I need to pay at least 100 dollars to get assistance? I am afraid this is not so fair... what a pity.... =(

If you need dedicated one-on-one help and you're not currently paying for any Blubrry services, this is the policy.
