Title: Stats Maintenance
Post by: rawvoicemarketing on August 24, 2007, 04:58:37 pm
From time to time Angelo make take the stats system off line for maintenance. When he does that rest assured that we're still collecting data. He could be doing anything from updating with some new code for the interface to beefing up the database servers.

When this is going on you will see a splash screen that tells you so. We will do our best to keep these times to a minimum.

Today is one of the days that maintenance is occurring. Angelo has been able to add some nice value to the system with features that may not mean a lot to you right now, but will really be helpful should you ever decide to move your podcast.

During the maintenance time Angelo has implemented what we call advanced url detection. We now use the file name of the media as the unique identifier of the media file.  This allows the podcaster to change the actual host name and path where your media is stored and continue to see the same download statistics for each file. Previously we were using the entire string as the identifier.

As usual, please feel free to enter questions, comments and suggestions here in this forum.
