Title: Unable to activate Powerpress in WP MU
Post by: PatriciaW43 on May 11, 2010, 08:34:17 am
I installed the PowerPress plugin and then attempted to activate it. When I clicked on the activate link all that happened was an empty page.

The site (which I did not create) uses WP MU 2.9.2 and I was trying to install PowerPress 1.0.7.

How can I fix this?

I presume your blog is now loading blank. First, delete the powerpress folder in your plugins folder so your blog will load again. Make sure you can sign into your WordPress blog afterward before continuing with the instructions below.

Try re-uploading a fresh downloaded copy of powerpress, and upload to a new powerpress folder in your plugins folder. Double check that the file permissions are correct.

Now try activating the newly uploaded version of PowerPress. If you get a blank page again, then something may be conflicting. Please email me at cio [at] rawvoice.com the list of other plugis you have installed, it may be that a plugin is conflicting with PowerPress.

:) With assistance from Angelo, PowerPress is now installed.

For anyone with the same problem, here is what worked for me.

I tried to install and activate podpress to see if I could get it to work but I got a 500 Internal Server error which led to http://wordpress.org/support/topic/357266

As a result, I added these two lines to .htaccess (our webhost 1and1 also suggested this fix on their site http://faq.1and1.com/scripting_languages_supported/php/9.html)

AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php
