I have a website that posts several podcasts on the same site. In addition to our normal podcasts, we also have a videocast. Unfortunately, this means that we have to turn off the in-post player, because the video player breaks our theme. On our main page, we have two columns that lists our posts. One for podcasts/videocasts, and one for news and content related to our subject. Each column is about 315 pixels wide. So, I had to lower the width of the player to fit that space. Unfortunately, the width of the video player remains the same. Or specifically, the placeholder image's width remains the same. Once you open the player itself, the video itself ends up being smaller.
So as a result, we had to turn all of our players off. This isn't an ideal situation, because I love the audio player, and really want to keep it on the page. So as such, I have two ideas:
1> The best option would be to make the "Display Media Player" setting in the "Appearance" tab of Powerpress' settings specific to Audio and/or Video. This way, I can tell it to keep the audio player in the post and new window, while making sure the video player is only in a new window.
2> If that's not possible for whatever reason, then at least make it to where the image for the video player resizes as well. If you need to resize the player for theme reasons, then the image makes that impossible.
The reason I prefer option #1, is because I'd prefer to cut out the video player altogether. It takes up too much vertical space for me to want to keep it. But that's not the big issue. I can technically use all the vertical space I want. It's the horizontal space usage that breaks things.
Great plugin. I've just started using it to replace podpress which has now completely broken many aspects of my website. Powerpress allows me to keep many of the attractive features with minimal changes. So kudos to that. If you want to take a look at my site, it's at
http://www.geekshow.us ... You can see how we blend audio and video podcasts together in the left column. You can also see how there is limited space. Although for the time being, I've turned off the players since it broke the theme, so you can't see how that looks (Although, it should give you a good idea).
