moving feed to new domain and keeping subscribers
« on: November 13, 2018, 02:13:29 pm »
hi guys, we are moving our site from fringe.fm to disruptors.fm and want to keep our feed continuous in all podcasting apps/players

our episodes are hosted on fireside.fm but we use powerpress plugin on our wordpress page and send the feed from that WP blog to itunes/googleplay etc...

what is the best way to combine this feed to new feed on disruptors.fm without breaking the chain and also keeping all our subscribers in sync?

thanks, couldnt find a good answer yet

Here's what you'll want to do:
1.) Set up WordPress/PowerPress on the new website, leave the old website online
2.) Import your existing podcast episodes into the new site:
https://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/advanced-tools-and-options/import-podcast-rss-feed/
3.) Make sure the new feed is valid at https://castfeedvalidator.com/ and that your media file URLs are still working
4.) Redirect the old feed URL to the new feed URL:

That's it. You're done. The biggest mistake we see people make in this process is that they take the old site offline before implementing the redirect. Don't make that mistake.
