Podcast noob
« on: February 20, 2018, 07:29:52 pm »
So I’ve been absolutely obsessed with podcasts now for years, and with. A background in feature journalism, I’m going to give it a go. The only concern I have is time and place. I have a big family and demanding job. It will be hard to do the recording  part at home. Should I just get a zoom handheld and possibly do it in a quite place in my truck? I spend a lot of time on the road and could conceivably break my podcasts into segments when I get the time on the road. Is this doable?

The interiors of cars/trucks are surprisingly well soundproofed for this kinda thing. I think in order to make it work, you'd have to do some experimentation with dialing in the Zoom's built-in microphones, or you could get a decent unidirectional microphone and plug that in to the Zoom. Either way, it definitely seems possible.
