SquareSpace?
« on: February 07, 2018, 06:20:31 am »
I'm thinking of moving the site that hosts my podcast from a WordPress blog to SquareSpace. I don't want the hassle of managing the site - I manage a few websites - and want the simplicity of SquareSpace.

There aren't many threads about using SquareSpace here, but I find one, here a reply from Blubbry said:

"You no longer can get our stats on the new feed, and the squarespace feed is less than perfect for podcasting."

Why is that the case? I co-host a podcast that is hosted on SquareSpace (I don't manage the site), and there are no issues. Why wouldn't the stats work any more?

For quite some time, Squarespace feeds were sub-standard for podcasting. They've since made some changes and for the most part, they are fine now. (However, I don't know if they're supporting things like the new iTunes tags, etc.)

If you want to use Squarespace with Blubrry stats, it is possible. But it requires a workaround:

There's also a workaround for using Blubrry Media Hosting with Squaresapce-generated feeds:

If you decide to go from WordPress to Squarespace, and you're using a WordPress-based podcast RSS feed, be sure to properly redirect that feed to the new Squarespace feed:
