iTunes Validation: No Episodes? But I see them . . .
« on: October 18, 2017, 08:11:55 pm »
Powerpress working fine. Several posts created with successful podcast episodes. When I go to BluBrry Dashboard in Directory and Episode Management, I see a Test episode only, not the ones uploaded/connected through my Powerpress. BUT when I go to my Media Files/Published Files, the episodes are there. So something isn't connected correctly.  Even so, when I went to iTunes to validate (hoping I could understand what it's drawing from), it says there are NO episodes at all. It does pull the artwork and information from my settings accurately. That makes three areas not syncing.  Okay, so now baffled.

Simple recent post: http://www.chisnell.com/podcasts/2017/10/11/invisible-man-the-golden-day-as-america/

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Looks like you're using Custom Channels?

If so, the channel feed here is empty:

The PowerPress media player on the post you've linked to is linking to this podcast feed:
http://www.chisnell.com/podcasts/feed/questions-posed/
That feed looks good, and has episodes in it.

If you're trying to add the same podcasts to multiple channels, you must add the media file URL to the corresponding Podcast Episode box for each channel when you create your posts.

Shawn,

Thanks. That makes sense that it's the Channels that are not at the general feed. Does this mean that I should use a different iTunes feed for each channel created?

Basically, I have a few different shows (each a channel) with their own episodes. They're all WP Posts from the same site. It would be ideal for iTunes to see them as different feeds, but if they all fall under the same general feed, that's okay for now (which is why I gave iTunes the general site feed rather than a channel feed).

One of the main goals of Custom Channels is to generate individual feeds. If that's what you're trying to achieve, then you're already there. 🙂 You can indeed submit those individual channel feeds to the iTunes Store.
