slow rss feed?
« on: May 10, 2017, 04:19:00 am »
Hey,
I got my Podcast rejected from tunein, so needed to check the rss feed. Feedvalidator seems to give false errors, but I checked with https://podba.se as Shawn recommended.

I got this. Is it something I should be concerned with?

   Is something there?
First we check if something’s at the URL, and that it takes a reasonable amount of time to retrieve.
It took about 2.1 seconds to get the feed, which is pretty slow in “internet time”. Worth looking into before it gets worse.

Also, with https it said iTunese does not accept my certificate, so I just changed the feed to http without the s. Does that solve the issue?
Thank you!

2.1 seconds for a feed load isn't really a concern. 20 seconds is!

If your http feed URL works on its own, that's fine. Some people set up their sites to make all http requests automatically resolve to https. If you're not doing that, so that your feed can be reached directly thru http, you should be OK.
