How to disable the video player and audio player.
« on: May 17, 2016, 10:41:42 pm »
If you look at https://evolveforward.net/header20160505/ , right about the podcast link where I stuck the shortcode, the powerpress video player is displayed. I tried to find a way to disable that. I just want the download feature. How can we get rid of the video and audio player?

It appears that a checkbox here would do the trick but notice that the box is unclickable.
How can I disable the video and audio player? If not here, can I do it in the code OR MySQL database?
Thanks.

Go to PowerPress >> Settings, Advanced Mode >> Media Appearance >> Media Player and uncheck the Display Player box and click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.

I set this already. For some reason, the player is still visible.
Should I rename the plugin folder in wp-content and then reload PowerPress so I do not loose the settings?
I just do not know why I cannot make the  player disappear or am I missing something in the settings.

I tested some different configurations and I couldn't get any of them to hide the media player when the shortcode was used.

However, if you're willing to let PowerPress sit above or below your main post content, you can try these settings in the Media Appearance tab:

This worked for me to see only the links that normally appear under the player but not the player itself.

Scratch that.

Go to PowerPress >> Settings, Advanced Mode >> Basic Settings. Make sure "Display Player and Links Options" and "No Player Option   (Disable media player on a per episode basis)" are checked. Save the changes. In your individual posts, you should now see a "do not display player" checkbox within the Podcast Episode box. Check that box and when you publish the post, you should see only the PowerPress links and not the PowerPress player wherever you insert the shortcode.
