Not sure what's the story hear, but was hoping to use PowerPress player for my WP blog with my Libsyn hosted podcast. After a day of fiddling with it, it's clear there's an issue with the plugin and wordpress. After deactivating every plugin, and it still doesn't work — just gives me a missing plugin error on Safari *(latest version with El Capitan).

Yet the embed code provided with the Libsyn player works perfectly.

Yes, chrome plays the PowerPress player, but it doesn't appear correctly nor does it show episode artwork.

I've got both Libsyn and the power press (below post and for a limited time) activated now so you can see if you're getting the missing plugin error, but it's clearly missing here:

I tested the PowerPress player in your post using both the latest versions of Safari and Chrome on my Mac Mini and the player worked fine on both. I didn't get the missing plugin error. Are you using the latest versions of WordPress and PowerPress? There was a PowerPress update released over the weekend.

The PowerPress player will display artwork by doing one of two things:

1.) Using the PowerPress shortcode including the image attribute with a full URL to the image file: http://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/advanced-tools-and-options/powerpress-playlist-shortcode/
2.) Adding a poster image to the Podcast Episode area of the WordPress post: http://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/powerpress-settings/basic-settings/

Have you tried either one of these to show your artwork with the PowerPress player?

Interesting. I do know that it worked on my iOS devices.
Yes. v 6.1 of PP and 4.3.1 on WP and fully updated on the Safari/Mac OS X — so this is odd.

I've not used the short code at all, and in my WP post settings for PP I don't see a field to enter a URL for the poster image. I did note that the Libsyn player does have the Podcast image as required by iTunes, and while I do have, through Libsyn, an image uploaded for the episode, I'm not sure where that would be displayed, guessing in the iTunes listing of episodes and likely on the Libsyn podcast webpage for my account.

So where would I find that poster image, even the link to the support doc doesn't show anything other than a media embed area.

I'm not sure of the specifics of how the LibSyn player works so I can't comment there. But, PowerPress doesn't use the artwork embedded in your media file, so you have to specify it using one of the two methods I mentioned above.

You can enable the Poster Image by going to PowerPress >> Settings, Advanced Mode >> Basic Settings >> Put a check next to "Poster Image (Specify URL to poster artwork specific to each episode)" and click the Save Changes button.
