Ok, I deactivated it on the drinkinggourd site.

The unfortunate thing is that the show has gone through different websites and names.  It is now exactly where it is supposed to be.

I imagine as I also had it on blueswithheart I should deactivate it there as well.

I never set any cache up so I don't think that is an issue.

If PowerPress is still running on drinkinggourd.org, deactivate it there. More importantly, if you have any caching plugins running on drinkinggourd.org, deactivate those, too. It'll ensure that when a web client (including iTunes) goes to the old feed, there won't be anything "blocking" the 301 redirect from being detected.

Done.  I deactivated pretty much everything on the drinkinggourd site.  Now to wait.

I'll give it till Thursday and if nothing, I'll contact iTunes,

Thanks for your help so far

I'm afraid whatever you were using to implement the 301 redirect on your old feed may have been turned off, too. When I go to this URL: http://www.drinkinggourd.org/feed/podcast/ it no longer redirects to the new feed URL. I get a WordPress error now, and the feed doesn't redirect. We have a support document that might help you out in terms of getting the redirect working:
http://create.blubrry.com/manual/syndicating-your-podcast-rss-feeds/changing-your-podcast-rss-feed-address-url/

Also, if you use the Yoast SEO plugin on the old website, here's a tutorial I wrote about how to add a 301 redirect using Yoast:

My host is Host Monster. I am doing the redirects through them. when I go to their control panel it still shows the redirect in place. I have also just noticed that the media is not showing up on individual pages.  When you click on the last date the podcast updates, Aug 17, you get this.

http://www.preservingtheblues.org/aug-17-2015/

All dates after, you get this

http://www.preservingtheblues.org/sept-21-2015/

The media is on wordpress just not showing.

I'm still getting a WordPress error page when I go to http://www.drinkinggourd.org/feed/podcast/ Can you remove that WordPress installation completely? 301 redirects are handled by a site's .htaccess file. I'm guessing that whatever's happened with the WordPress site has overwritten any changes that might've gone into place from your Host Monster settings. Another option would be to contact Host Monster support and see if they can figure out why the redirect isn't working.

When I go to this page: http://www.preservingtheblues.org/aug-17-2015/ I do see the PowerPress player at the bottom of the post. When I go to this page: http://www.preservingtheblues.org/sept-21-2015/ I see nothing after the post title. There's no text or PowerPress player. I'd check to make sure there isn't any broken code on the page, such as an HTML tag that wasn't closed properly. Those kinda things can cause display issues.

ok...progress.  www.drinkinggourd.org/feed/podcast now redirects to preservingtheblues.org/feed/podcast

The issue is with the media not showing up on the pages. I know less than zero about html so I am not sure what to look for.

The other thing I noticed has to do with the Blubrry information when I type in a new post. Here is a link to my page with the examples   http://www.preservingtheblues.org/screen-shots/

Regarding the media.  When I enter the link, it verifies, I just don't get a player or the playlist.  Any thought on this?

I appreciate the help!

Dave

If you're having trouble with the PowerPress player not showing up, one thing to try is go to PowerPress >> Settings, advanced mode >> Media Appearance >> Having issues? Try the first option in the dropdown menu and save changes. If that doesn't fix it, try the other two options. If shortcodes aren't working, that could be a problem with either another plugin or your WordPress theme. See this page for help on that:
http://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/using-powerpress/diagnosing-feed-andor-player-issues-with-powerpress/

Re: iTunes Summary box: Go to PowerPress >> Settings, advanced mode >> Basic Settings and make sure the iTunes Summary Field checkbox is ticked, save changes if needed. Note: If you're putting the same information into your iTunes Summary as your main WordPress post, you really don't need to bother with copying anything into the iTunes Summary box. PowerPress will do it for you automatically.

It seems the theme might be the issue. I switched to the twentythirteen, and the media player is showing up.

Now I am getting  "unable to subscribe, the podcast link is not a valid link"

When I clear my cache, and type in www.drinkinggourd.org/feed/podcast it redirects to preservingtheblues.org/feed/podcast and I am able to play all my shows.

I noticed that on my website the podcast url is actually http://www.preservingtheblues.org/podcast-2/

Is that an issue?

I know you guys are not here to work with iTunes issues I'm just hoping you can help.

Do you know what type of page is at http://www.preservingtheblues.org/podcast-2/ ?  Is it a WordPress category archive? Are you using WordPress post types? The reason the URL slug has that -2 on the end is because PowerPress takes control of the "podcast" slug. Having it with the -2 at the end isn't really a problem unless you just don't like it. If you'd like to change it, take a look at this page:
http://create.blubrry.com/resources/powerpress/advanced-tools-and-options/disabling-powerpress/

I tested your feed http://www.preservingtheblues.org/feed/podcast/ and it looks good in Feed Validator. I also did a manual subscription in desktop iTunes and it worked fine. The redirect at http://www.drinkinggourd.org/feed/podcast seems to be working as it should, as well. With all of that in place, hopefully, iTunes will catch up in a few days.

My podcast page is simply a page I set up for the blog portion. I do have a couple of categories set up for the posts.

I am not sure what WordPress post types are.

Thanks for checking everything.  I hope it is resolved soon. I am guessing this means I need to find a new theme as the one I chose was causing problems.

Thanks

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with your site the way it is now. You can change the theme, if you want. But it seems like everything's working now as it should. I see iTunes is still using your old feed URL to run your iTunes Store listing. So, you may as well just go ahead and send in a support ticket, ask them to change your listing to the new feed. You can do that here:
https://itunespodcasts.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

have done that.  Thank you.  I switched back to my old theme just to see what would happen.  I don't understand why the media player shows up, up to and including Aug 17 but for every post after, it doesn't.  I tried the fix option on the settings part of Power Press with no luck.

Why all of a sudden has it decided to not work?

Looking at your Sept 7 2015 entry, I don't see any of the actual body of the post in the source code for the post entry page. However, it looks like all of the information is in your PowerPress feed for that entry. Is it possible that you accidentally only added the text for this entries (and the subsequent ones) only to the iTunes Summary box and not the main WordPress post box?

Also, for the episodes that aren't displaying on the website, have you done anything different you can remember with them? Or, did you copy the text into WordPress from an external program like Microsoft Word? Sometimes, copying text into WordPress like that causes problems.
