RSS feed not validating, but was accepted by iTunes
« on: August 26, 2015, 08:36:20 am »
Feedvalidator is not validating my RSS feed. What's weird is iTunes accepted the feed an I'm awaiting approval. Also, the RSS subscribe button doesn't button work, when clicked it takes me to a page full of code.

here is the feed validator page with errors:
http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgymmyth.com%2Ffeed%2Fpodcast%2F

Any ideas why this is happening.

Thanks

1.  Feedvalidator has nothing really to do with iTunes.  So iTunes will accept some errors that feed validator will not. Also, feedvalidator is outdated.   Try either castfeedvaildator.com or http://podba.se as alternitives.

2. RSS is just code so this is normal.  RSS was never meant for humans, just machines.  On a computer, RSS will render as just xml code in most browsers.  This is normal.  The RSS button will work on mobile devices.

If you want to make sure everything is ok.. Click the RSS button in Firefox.  Firefox is the only browser that tries to make xml code look human readable.
