PowerPress taxonomy podcast not using given channel information
« on: February 17, 2015, 01:33:05 pm »
I have set up a single category podcast and a single taxonomy (post tag) podcast using the same information in each of the settings screens (e.g. same channel information). I have a single post which has the same and valid podcast episode information. That post is assigned to both the aforementioned category and post tag. It appears to me that the category podcast feed is correct. It takes all of the channel information and itunes information I have given it to define the podcast. The taxonomy podcast does not use any of the custom content given. Both feeds show the same item information for the single post I have assigned.

- There is a bug for taxonomy podcasts (post tag) where the feed does not present the correct channel information (or I have missed a setting /something else).

I'm using a barebones wordpress (v4.1) installation which is using the base genesis theme (v2.1.1) and Blubrry PowerPress (v6.0.1). I've tested this with only the PowerPress plugin installed with no others.

Is the taxonomy being applied to "posts" or a custom post type?

Okay got it, you can delete the account.

I will go through my notes tonight, I suspect something is wrong with taxonomy podcasting, or the taxonomy itself needs to be setup a special way.

if you could please change the URL I provided with this. I'd like to mask my domain name. http://tinyurl.com/lcmke5o

Sorry for the long delay. This problem has been on my list for a while.

This is what I discovered. taxonomy podcasting, just like category podcasting, is designed to use the default podcast episodes. It is not menat to intermingle with custom podcast channels or post type podcasting. Crossing these with eachother creates too many feed possibilities, very complicated.

For future reference, taxonomy podcasting only uses the default podcast episode data.
