Different Categories, Different Artwork
« on: January 28, 2014, 05:45:01 am »
I will have two or three different podcasts with different titles, content, feeds and artwork.
When I use the Categorization features, it does not give me the option to use different artwork
for each category.

Is there a way to setup multiple feeds each with its own artwork?

Thanks!

Yes, under powerpress on the sidebar, click on "category podcasting".  In there, you can edit each category.  There is an Artwork tab.

Ah, excellent, Mike... thanks!
The artwork, title and long description are being picked up from the Category, but the short description is
being picked up from the WP Description.

Can there be another source of the short description other than the WP main blog description?

Other than the "Feed Description" in the feeds tab, I'm not sure.

<itunes:subtitle> is picking up the main blog desc not the post desc

Thanks Mike...

When I look at the feed through the feed validator, I notice that phrase is only found in the
<itunes:subtitle> tag of the feed.  So, it seems that itunes is picking it up from there.

Where does blubrry create the <itunes:subtitle> tag?
The phrase showing up is the main blog description.

Thanks again!

In the default feed, it would be in the iTunes Subtitle box in the iTunes tab.  It doesn't look like that is available for Categories.

I will check with Angelo and see if he can add that to the ToDo list for Powerpress.

Thanks Mike... that would be a great idea because otherwise we end up with
the same Short Description for all feeds.  I actually thought I read where the
Short Description takes a certain number of characters from the Long Description.
Thanks again!

Aloha Mike... well, I stumbled across it... Podcast Settings for Category area, there is an iTunes tab and so I went to iTunes Settings >iTunes Program Subtitle, entered my own Short Description and it does change that <itunes:subtitle> tag passed on to iTunes.  So, I am good to go.
Thanks for your help!
