iTunes + iPhone podcast description.
« on: December 30, 2013, 01:28:17 am »
Hiya!  I've got a quick question regarding the way podcast descriptions show up on iPhones. I've written my description (In my case, a tracklist for a music podcast) like this:

Tracklist:

1. Fatboy Slim - Praise You (Maribou State Remix) [Skint]
2. Dark Sky - Shades [50 Weapons]
3. FaltyDL - Uncea [Ninja Tune]
4. Chicken Lips - He Not In (Eats Everything Chicken Tits Rewix) [Defected]
5. Dauwd - Heat Division [Ghostly International]
6. Ultraísta - Smalltalk (Sasha Involv3r Remix) [Ministry of Sound]
7. Butch feat. Hohberg - Medusa [Visionquest]
8. Guy Gerber feat. Jaw - Steady (Midland Remix) [Supplement Facts]
9. Tâches - Vegas (Joey Mccrilley Remix) [Free Download]
10. Jacques Greene - Quicksand [LuckyMe]
11. Jason Burns - Psalms [Sounds Of Sumo]
12. Rustie - Slasher [Numbers]
13. Toro Y Moi - So Many Details [Carpark]
14. Mt. Wolf - Hypolight (Pále Remix) [Free Download]

However, once I load the podcast up on my iPhone, the tracklist comes out differently: [size=78%]http://i.imgur.com/2gq65gM.png[/size]

Any ideas how/why this is, and how to fix it so it displays as I originally intended? Here's a link to my feed: http://kevinthom.ca/feed/podcast/

Thank you so much for your help!

It looks exactly the way ios shows it in your feed.  RSS feeds do not follow formating like web pages do.  I don't believe there is a way to force it to display your list like you have it on your blog.

I got it to work by manually editing the feed myself. Take a look: http://imgur.com/sqiOpAa

Here's the manually edited feed: http://kevinthom.ca/podcast/podcast2/podcast

The iOS Podcast app seems to be sourcing the information from the BluBrry feed's <Description></Description> field rather than the <itunes:summary> field. Any idea as to why this is/how to fix it within BluBrry rather than having to manually edit the feed for every uploaded episode?

Thank you!
