Blubrry hosting and archived shows
« on: December 30, 2008, 02:03:33 pm »
I have considered moving to Blubrry hosting, but since I have such a large catalog of old shows, it seems unworkable.

One of my shows is very topical, and so after a month or so most shows are obsolete.  My other show however is a movie review show, and it gets good traction for some shows long after they are done.  Either way I would want someone to be able to continue to download these archival shows, but since we are talking about 2.5 gigs for one show of archives (100_ shows) and somewhere around 8-9 gigs for 250 shows for my other podcast, I dont think its a workable proposition.

Heck, it would take me a month to upload all the files to a new server.  What do most shows do...just hack off the older show archives?

If your current episodes are hosted somewhere, we can automate the process of downloading those media files into the Blubrry network. Migration from server to server is faster but it still takes some time.
