Display Explicit on blogposts
« on: November 24, 2012, 05:12:17 pm »
Hi,
You should make an option like the display media size and durations but for explicit and clean content.
- Much thanks for PowerPress

This is an option, go to PowerPress Settings > Basic Settings tab, under "Episode Entry Box" options, check the box next to "iTunes explicit", then save changes. You can now set your iTunes explicit option on a per episode basis.

Go to PowerPress Settings > iTunes tab to set the default iTunes explicit value.

This will not "display" text saying Explicit on blog posts.  Just tag it in the feed as such.

Which did you mean Zachary, did you mean for the clean/explicit to be printed in your web pages blow the player, or did you mean for the option when you edit a blog post?

To display it on the webpages. I have the iTunes explicit field there already. Sorry for the slow reply, did not subscribe to the forum topic.

The "Explicit" should be in the feed for iTunes and other directories that care. As far as your web site is concerned, it's a bit late to put the word explicit next to the player when your show notes and your web site itself will also have explicit content. What you most likely need is one of those WordPress plugins that warns the user that your site contains explicit content before they enter the site. Check the laws in the country you are operating out of, you may either need to have visitors agree to be at least 13 years of age (like most public forums) or if there is foul language/nudity you may have to do what adult web sites do.

No, I just wanted to give users a heads up if there is excessive bad language in the videos.

Gotcha. I would mention that maybe even make your own icon at the top of the blog post comments,

When you set the explicit tag itunes assumes both the media and the metadata (post title, summary, description, etc...) is explicit and thus does not display the episode for users with the explicit settings set in their itunes. Its more than just a warning for the media file.
