Audio not playing in browsers, but playing on mobile devices, etc.
« on: September 20, 2012, 11:11:01 am »
We recently began having issues with blubrry and the powerpress plugin on our wordpress site. The verify function gets hung up and provides no error message. The player shows up correctly on the page and we can play it perfectly on iphones and ipads, iTunes podcast as well as when you download it. It's just not working in a web browser (we've tried FF, Safari & Chrome).

We have been uploading .mp3's created in camtasia studio (audio only) at the bit rate of 22.050kHz, Stereo, 128kbits/sec.

Recent changes: updated Wordpress to 3.4.2; all plugins are up to date.

Thank you.

Update: We uploaded the .mp3 that camtasia created to iTunes and then downloaded converted the iTunes .m4a back to .mp3 using media.io. Everything works now.

Anyone know why the camtasia .mp3 is giving us grief in the first place?

Camtasia isn't know for being an audio editor, I would venture to guess that it's not very feature rich in the audio side of things.
