Sharp Increase In Downloads for July
« on: July 30, 2012, 08:11:43 am »
Hey out there, based on the Blubrry Free Media Stats, we had quite a surge in downloads all through the month of July.  Just curious to see if there may have been any kind of issues with the reporting or anything.

I just don't want to get to all excited about this is if its just from some bug or something.

Thanks.

No actually the trend in the summer months is a 20% decrease in downloads. Any secrets you want to share? Featured in iTunes perhaps?

By the way, you want to make sure you have 1400x1400 jpg artwork for your podcast, iTunes is only featuring shows that have the correctly sized artwork now.

Well, that is interesting.

No secrets really.  This podcast is called freezingprocess.net.  It's specifically only about music in Maine.  If you are unaware, the music scene here is pretty incredible.  A lot of people call our program a "music gearhead" type of thing.  But really, we just dedicate each episode to a specific musician or artists.  We do a lot of homework and, each of us being musicians ourselves, are able to get in a pretty deep dive conversation.

We had a feeling that a lot of the programming changes we made, as well as the changes we made to the way we are using Facebook and Twitter, would have an impact.  But, that seemed to have happened at just the right time and it finally really caught on outside of the diehard local musicians.

I've been using Blubrry free stats for a while now.  Hats off to the team.  Thank you very much.
