RSS feed image

Recently I had some issues with updating the image associated with my podcast. All was resolved.

That said, the image is not showing up:
(1) In Apple's Podcast app Library (when a show is subscribed to/downloaded)
(2) In iTunes when I select the feed/show in the podcast area (not the iTunes store). Other podcasts that I subscribe to will show an image associated with the show.

I'm aware that selecting a specific podcast episode will show artwork. This *is* working. See the attached images for clarification.

This is what shows up for me in iTunes:
http://thenewmanpodcast.com/images/1.png -- not working for my podcast
http://thenewmanpodcast.com/images/2.png -- an example of this showing up for another podcast

Here is the feed:

Any ideas what is going on here? I'm using a 1400x1400 image for the RSS2 image. Is that too big?

Thanks.

When you play a specific media file in iTunes, the image that is embedded into the file is displayed. This is called poster art, for an mp3 file it's saved in what are recalled ID3 tags. You need to use your audio/video editing software to add this image. It can be the same 1400x1400 image, it should be at least 300x300 though and square. Learn more on PodcastFAQ.com: http://www.podcastfaq.com/creating-podcast/audio/id3-tags/ Easiest way to write these tags to audio files after the fact is to use iTunes, which is explained in the link.

Hey Angelo. Thanks for the reply.

We're already doing this. Each mp3 has an image file embedded. What I'm referring to in the original question is the artwork associated with the feed. But for some reason when the podcast itself is selected in the iTunes library it does not show artwork. Nor does it show artwork in the Podcast iPhone/iPad app library section.

Please look closely at the links/files in my previous post for a reference. It's hard for me to describe otherwise.

The artwork for the show was recently updated (with your help) and the old artwork was showing up in the podcast app and iTunes. Now there is nothing but Apple's generic podcast icons.

When viewing your podcast listing on iTunes, it shows the artwork from your feed. When viewing a specific episode, it shows the artwork within that episode media file.

I downloaded TNM118-MarkMichaelLewis.mp3, opened it in iTunes and confirmed iTunes does not display your artwork. If I go to "get info" I do see the podcast artwork but it's very small, not even 300x300. Try using your latest 1400x1400 artwork, as that is now what iTunes wants, then see if it appears in iTunes.
