Google Parameter Page: Getting Strange Words
« on: April 19, 2012, 08:36:50 pm »
Google Analytics has a parameter page where they inquire about suffixes to file names. Does anyone know if these phrases indicate a change of content, such as a different podcast or not?

Sample of recently crawled URLs
?powerpress_pinw=201-podcast
?powerpress_pinw=191-podcast
?powerpress_pinw=223-podcast
?powerpress_pinw=211-podcast
?powerpress_pinw=116-podcast
?powerpress_pinw=138-podcast
?powerpress_pinw=150-podcast
?powerpress_pinw=127-podcast
?powerpress_pinw=171-podcast
?powerpress_pinw=182-podcast

Thanks,

Brian

Those are links to specific play in new window players, they should not be crawled. We plan on adding nofollow tags to those links in the future.
