weird URL rewrite problem
« on: February 22, 2012, 11:45:03 pm »
You can see here (http://syncurity.net/?p=469) that the link doubles up (see the url goes "podcastsyncurity instead of podcast/syncurity")

example:
http://media.blubrry.com/rocsec/p/syncurity.net/podcastssyncurity.net/podcasts/rocsec1.mp3

the final link should be: http://syncurity.net/podcasts/rocsec1.mp3 (after the blubrry redirect)

I can't figure out where to modify this setting.

The problem started when I updated to blubrry 3.0

my site is syncurity.net. My email is jp AT syncurity DOT net.

my blubrry account is punkrokk.

Edit the post, make sure in the "Media URL" you have the full URL entered the way you want it. e.g. http://syncurity.net/podcasts/rocsec1.mp3 (and not http://podcastssyncurity.net/podcasts/rocsec1.mp3)

Most likely the Media URL field is missing the http://, and you have in your "PowerPress Settings" > "Basic Settings" tab, setting "Default Media URL" set to "http://syncurity.net/podcasts". If you do, delete the entry completely and only use full URLs for all future "Media URL" entries.

Hi! Thanks for your response. My default media URL is blank, and I do use full paths.

If I take out the "Redirect URL 1" then everything works correctly.  This was set to: http://media.blubrry.com/rocsec/syncurity.net/podcasts

I can't find on your site where to confirm that this is still correct.

Okay, your media redirect URL 1 is wrong, way WRONG. It should be http://media.blubrry.com/rocsec/  (no idea where the extra "/syncurity.net/podcasts" came from)

That appears to work. Assuming the podcast feed will need to refresh in iTunes to complete the fix. Thanks!

Since the media URLs changed, iTunes should update within 24 hours. Other settings with iTunes can take much longer to update, like the description or iTunes image tends to take 3-7 days as of late.
