Media Appearance Settings: Disable Media Player but ENABLE Links
« on: November 22, 2011, 07:08:27 pm »
I blog over at Bailing Bucket: http://www.bailingbucket.com and my theme has a built in audio player, so it's already perfectly styled to fit my site. So I was wondering instead of "Enable" and "Disable" of the Media Appearance Settings, if we could have another option?

I would like to use the audio player from my theme, but still show the media links. I love PowerPress' embed option and I wouldn't want to loose that. I was thinking it could use PowerPress' player to embed on other sites (and if possible you could allow users to select a chosen style or the default classic is nice anyway).

I guess I'm sort of looking for a halfway setting. What do you think?

The theme can build their own links and such. Just ask your theme developer to look at the powerpress.php source file, near the bottom are helper functions the theme can call to do what you want. The specific theme functions would then be created and saved in your theme's functions.php file.
