Flash Video Player Choice
« on: October 05, 2010, 11:43:20 pm »
Although you have 5 options for audio players, I see no options for video players for a vodcast. The default seems to be a QuickTime player which many do not have installed. If there a way to use a Flash video player, such as FlowPlayer or LongTail Player? If not, does anyone know how to add the code to make a flash player work? I want to play mov files.

If you are using an MOV file, it needs the quicktime player to play.  We do not transcode your video.  It just plays as it is.

What you can do, is upload your video to an online video site (youtube, blip, viddler and the like) and in your powerpress settings, click custom under podcast entry box and select the embed field and check replace blubrry player.

Then you would upload your .mov file (or whatever media file) to your media server.  Put it in powerpress just like you do now, but then add the embed code from the online video site.  That way, you will get the flash player from that site but your podcast feed will deliver your normal media file.

Hope this helps!
