Images display out URLs in feed
« on: April 23, 2010, 10:11:20 am »
Hi guys an gals:

Whenever I publish my podcasts, I append an image to the post in WordPress. Here's an example:

http://gmauthority.com/blog/2010/04/gm-authority-weekly-22-hamsandwich/

However, the URL to the podcast image (as well as the subscribe button) are output to the description of each episode (in iTunes, for example).

http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/gm-authority-weekly/id342958110

Check out the description In iTunes - it starts off with two URLS (the locations of the two images in the WP post).

Is there any way I can remove those URLs without removing the images?

I have enabled the  Optimize iTunes Summary from Blog Posts option.
Running WP 2.9.2 with Blubrry 1.0.7

Thanks for any help.

You can do this one way for sure.  Un-check "Optimize iTunes Summary from Blog Posts" in the itunes tab in powerpress.  Then go to the basic settings tab and under "podcast entry box" hit Custom and click "iTunes Summary Field".  Then you can manually put what you want to show up on iTunes in there.

The Episode summary on the itunes site will allow links but not images.

The other way that "should" work is to just uncheck the optimize iTunes summary from blog posts.  That will use your blog post for the summary, but not put the links to the images in there.

Hope this helps!
