Trying to move from Podcasting to PowerPress
« on: December 21, 2009, 06:00:43 pm »
PowerPress is causing mod_security to be tripped because of what the hosting server is detecting as a cross site scripting attack.

The detected attack is in: /podcasts/wp-content/plugins/powerpress/3rdparty/jquery.cookie.js and was referred to by: http://<webdomain>/wp-admin/admin.php?page=powerpress/powerpressadmin_basic.php

I can see that I'm doing anything wrong but everytime I attempt to edit my PowerPress settings mod_security is being triggered and it's causing my hosting company to block my IP address as an attacker.  I can't find anything like this in the forums or "googling" the net.

Any help?

I just looked up the problem and found that the mod_security module in your web hosting is blocking any file that ends with .js file extension that has the word 'cookie' in it. I'm working on a new version this evening and will have a link to it available for you to try soon.

Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

THANK YOU!  Wow...that was fast and it did fix the problem...at least I haven't triggered the mod_security yet.

Glad to know it worked. This will be permanently fixed in future versions of PowerPress.
